Associate of Science - Engineering Studies

Engineering involves solving everyday problems to improve the lives of people through the practical application of sciences and mathematics. Engineers are shaping the future by applying their skills through research, development, and mass production to almost everything you can think of, from medicine to renewable energy, food technologies to sustainable mining. There really is no limit to what engineers can do.

The Engineering Studies Program at Columbus State University (CSU) offers a unique opportunity to earn a Bachelor degree in Engineering program that students might consider in the course of their career planning. Students will build a solid foundation in sciences, engineering, humanities, social sciences and mathematics. Learning takes place in a friendly, small college environment where students can obtain individual help from and maintain close contact with professors outside of classes.

The principal goals of the Columbus State University Engineering Studies Program are

There are also a number of reasons why a student might select the Engineering Studies Program offered at CSU

  • Pre-engineering studies are conducted in general areas and are a preparation for a number of fields of advanced specialized study and leave opportunities open for change.
  • Completion of the program provides an Associate of Science in Engineering Studies and flexibility to transfer to any engineering schools outside Georgia, although Regents' Engineering Pathway Program (REPP) is planned for continuation.
  • A history of transfer student success to individual engineering schools
